Short hair is one of the trendiest styles around. More and more women are cutting off their locks sporting short ‘dos. Some are even choosing to go extra-short. These women are showing off the “pixie cut,” a short hair trend that is on the rise. This look is achieved by cropping hair short around the ears and adding lots of choppy layers around the crown and neck.

The look also requires side-swept bangs that can be either long or short. Styling the cut can go one of two ways. Some women choose to go sleek and straight. They keep the cut flat and dress it up with shine serums to make it gleam. Others prefer a more natural look. They let their hair show texture with waves and curls. Sometimes this means using wax or gel to get the desired look. Either look is gorgeous when styled properly.

The pixie cut also looks great with subtle highlights. This can add dimension to the look and make the cut livelier. Pins, clips, and barrettes also dress up the pixie look and are a great choice for special occasions.
